Job Details:

The post holder will act as a role model to all team members in the delivery of a high standard of evidenced based nursing care.  They will utilise effective management and leadership skills in the operational management of the wards.  They will be responsible for the management of all nursing staff in the wards from the selection and recruitment of staff to managing their personal and professional development.  They will act as a role model and mentor to staff and students in establishing a positive learning environment where staff can develop to their full potential.  

The successful applicant will be able to:

• Show evidence of clinical and managerial expertise and knowledge
• Demonstrate ability to take responsibility for day to day management of the ward
• Deliver nursing care in line with Clinical Governance objectives
• Show evidence of effective communication with good leadership and interpersonal skills
• Show evidence that they are able to take charge in the absence of their direct line manager
