At Scion, we understand that infertility is a very sensitive subject and that seeking treatment can be difficult - so we want to make things as easy and as comfortable for you as we possibly can.

Your first consultation

If you have been referred by your doctor or you have booked an appointment yourself, the first step in the process is a consultation with one of our Consultant Infertility Specialists. 

During your consultation, we will discuss in detail both partners' medical history and explore some of the options, investigations and treatments available to you.  The risks and the chances of success of each of the treatment options will be discussed and the most suitable treatment for you will be discussed in greater detail.

If you have previously had investigations undertaken elsewhere, we advise that you obtain copies of any records prior to your consultation as this will help things run more smoothly and quickly.

Screening

To provide a safe environment for both patients and staff and to take into account the welfare of any child that may be born as a result of treatment, all patients undergoing treatment are screened for HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C.  Both male and female partners are screened and all results must be available before treatment is allowed to commence.

Your treatment

Should you decide to go ahead with treatment, our nurse co-ordinator will be with you every step of the way to ensure the smoothest possible process.  Most treatments can be started almost immediately or at a time that is convenient for both partners.  Click on the links in the left-hand menu for more information on specific treatment options.
