Respiratory medicine
Respiratory medicine is concerned with the organs and tissues associated with breathing including the nasal passages, trachea, pharynx, larynx, lungs and bronchi. These organs are responsible for carrying oxygen from the air to the blood and expelling carbon dioxide. Did you know that on average we breathe approximately 15 to 20 times per minute while at rest?
We offer regular outpatient clinics with Consultant Respiratory Physicians to assess and treat a full range of respiratory conditions. At Holly House your consultant has access to a range of specialist services including biopsies, blood tests, lung function tests, ECG, x-ray and other tests to aid diagnosis.
Our consultants specialise in:
- Asthma
- Breathing difficulties
- Chronic cough
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Emphysema
- Sleep apnoea (snoring and breathing difficulties during sleep)
Please note these are regular clinics, other times may be available by appointment.
