Psychiatry is the study, prevention and treatment of emotional and behavioural problems and mental illness.
At some time in your life you may experience personal problems or feelings that concern you, our consultant psychiatrists may be able to help you manage or overcome these difficulties. We provide regular one-to-one outpatient clinics, the personal content of which is strictly confidential to the consultant. Psychiatry sessions will usually examine your physical and mental state as well as your personal and family history. Treatment may include medication, counselling, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis or behaviour therapy.
