Pathology services
Pathology is a term used to describe a wide variety of tests on blood and other biological samples to assist consultants and doctors in the treatment of their patients.
Holly House has an onsite Pathology Laboratory providing a range of pathology tests and investigations on blood and other biological specimens. With a combination of state-of-the-art instrumentation and computerisation, a highly experienced team of consultants and fully qualified biomedical scientists, we offer a fast, high quality and flexible service six days a week and an on-call service outside of these times.
The laboratory participates in all relevant National Quality Assurance schemes.
Our pathology service includes:
- General biochemistry
- General haematology
- Blood transfusion service
- Endocrinology
- Microbiology
- Other - any assays we are not able to perform onsite are sent to Reference Centres or hospital departments that meet our accreditation guidelines.

You results will be sent to your consultant, a GP or other healthcare professional who referred you for the test.
