ILS resuscitation training
Date: Monthly throughout 2011 Time: 9am - 5pm approx.
Location: Holly House Hospital, High Road, Buckhurst Hill, Essex IG9 5HX
This one-day course aims to train healthcare personnel in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, airway management and safe defibrillation (manual and/or AED), enabling them to immediately manage patients in cardiac arrest until the arrival of a cardiac arrest team and to participate as members of that team.
The ILS consists of various lectures and skill stations teaching the following:
- Causes and prevention of cardio-respiratory arrest
- The ALS algorithm
- The ABCDE approach
- Initial resuscitation and defibrillation
- Airway (with optional LMA)
- Optional targeted training
- CASTeach
This course is appropriate for doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and radiographers who require these skills for the clinical areas that they work in.
