Large text Mr Kesava Reddy Mannur is an experienced upper gastrointestinal surgeon and has extensive experience in advanced laparoscopic surgery since 1990. He has performed obesity surgery, also known as Bariatric surgery since 1998.
History
Currently Consultant Surgeon at Homerton University Hospital & the Royal London Hospital, London (NHS) and at Holly House Hospital. Mr Mannur regularly performs laparoscopic obesity surgery including gastric banding, gastric RNY bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, duodenal switch and revisional obesity surgery - both in the NHS (Homerton) and at Holly House Hospital.
He trained in surgery at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, Lister Hospital in Stevenage, Royal London Hospital, London and the Middlesex Hospital London and also set up a department of at Mediciti Hospital, Hyderabad, India 1995 – ’98.
Mr Mannur was Consultant Surgeon at The Royal London Hospital, London Jan 1998 – Aug 2000 and at Scarborough General Hospital, Oct 2000 – Dec 2002.
Laparoscopic (keyhole surgery) work
He began laparoscopic work in 1990 and attended the laproscopic course in Dundee in 1990. He was closely associated with advanced laparoscopic work at the Royal London Hospital from 1991 – 1993 and has attended various laparoscopic courses/conferences since then.
He gave a number of workshops/conferences in laparoscopic surgery in India from 1994 onwards and has demonstrated a live procedure - Laparoscopic Fundoplication for heartburn/hiatus hernia - to the Royal College of Surgeons from the Royal London Hospital operating theatre in 1998 & 1999 as well as locally at other times. As a result of his knowledge of laparoscopic procedures, he has trained a number of surgeons in Laparoscopic Surgery.
Obesity work
- Attended the first Laparoscopic gastric banding course in London in 1998
- Performed first Laparoscopic gastric banding in 1998
- Demonstrated Laparoscopic gastric banding in Madras, India in Jan 2004 and teaching laparoscopic obesity surgery since then in Madras & Hyderabad.
- Attended numerous Laparoscopic obesity centres in France, Belgium, Holland & USA/ workshops/conferences. Improved technique by spending some time with Leading Bariatric Surgeons In US - Prof Gagner in Newyork and Dr Higa in Fresno, California.
- Regularly attends International and National Obesity conferences.
- Regularly performs all aspects of obesity surgery after careful evaluation in a multidisciplinary set up. Training other consultants in bariatric surgery.
