Large text At some time in your life you may experience problems and difficulties or feelings that concern you. Counselling can explore those feelings and help you make some sense of what is happening to you as well as supporting you through those difficult times.
Counselling is provided on a one-to-one basis at Holly House especially to support patients overcoming physical illness, post-operative stress or trauma.
Specialist counselling is also available for those who need help to cope with the psychological and emotional challenges of everyday life and treatment is provided in association with the UK's leading independent provider of counselling, Priory Healthcare.
All our counsellors and therapists are bound by the code of ethics and practice of their respective professional associations, such as the British Association of Counsellors.
Getting started At your first appointment your present situation will be assessed and arrangements will be made for your treatment to start.
Each session lasts an hour, usually every week for an agreed number of weeks. You will be offered an appointment within one week. Each client is treated as an individual and therefore the amount of sessions will vary according to your needs.
The personal content of the sessions is strictly confidential to the counsellor and their clinical supervisor.
No information will be disclosed to anyone else without gaining prior permission from you, except in exceptional circumstances where it was felt you could cause serious harm to yourself or others.
