It is usually carried out under general anaesthetic and an overnight stay in hospital may be required. It can be carried out on both men and women. Chin reduction: If the chin protrudes too much, a reduction may be suggested. Dependent on the reduction required, this can range from the minimal reduction technique of removing some excess tissue and a slight reduction of the bone, to a more complicated procedure involving more bone reduction or resetting.
