Large text Offering a comprehensive and multi-disciplinary breast care service to both women with breast cancer and those with various benign breast conditions, Holly House recently gained accreditation from BUPA as an approved Breast Cancer Hospital. Since January 2006 Holly House has employed its own Breast Care Nurse Specialist – Joanne Hill.
As part of the MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) service, our breast screen service is available for women over the age of 40 years. Appointments are normally available within 48 hours and women can self refer if non-symptomatic, or, if symptomatic and accompanied by a letter of referral, may make their own appointments. Two Radiologists will report each and every screen in line with the National Breast Screening Programme and reports are made available within 7-10 working days.
Four Consultant Breast Surgeons currently consult and operate at Holly House. Mr Wellwood, Mr Snooks, Mr Morgan and Mr Bradpiece and all are supported by the Breast Care Nurse Service and the Diagnostic Centre.
A dedicated Breast Clinic is available on Thursday mornings run by Mr Snooks. Mammography, ultrasounds and core biopsies are conducted and reported on during the clinic if required and results are fast tracked and are given to patients in the same clinic.
As part of the MDT, access to discuss cases with histopathologists, Oncologists, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons etc. is always available if needed. |
